Red Tide, Adam Hughes and other random bits of news...

Received my oversized copy of Steranko's Red Tide and was delighted to find that the printing is only about 10 times better on the oversized version than the more readily available pocket version. Well worth the money, which isn't that much, and time to find one.

I want to say "hello" and give a shout out to the two people from Bulgaria who hit last week, and the 4 from Malaysia.

I also want to say "hello" to the person who came here with the Google search "porn porn". Now, we've all done the first search, but do you need it so bad that you have to put it in to Google twice?

And, of course, some new Hughes/Yoakum Wonder Woman!

Is that the new version of Red Tide that has meant to be coming out for years? Who published it, where did you get it?

To search Google for "porn" would be like attempting to pick up all of Lake Michigan in your hands and take a sip from it: you'd be totally inundated without ever receiving what you were after in the first place.

But "porn porn" sounds much more interesting. Porn about porn? Porn set in a porn studio, featuring the sex lives of porn workers? Would it be like Boogie Nights? Or maybe one of those tv shows that's about the making of a tv show, like 30 Rock or Studio 60?

Also, Hughes/Yoakum WW is purty.

sean - this was me finally getting the larger byron preiss version that was published back in the day. I finally found this one on ebay, without the tipped in plate that I think a few have, for a very reasonable $45 or so. New to me, but not a new published version. I've heard rumors about aht as well, but nothing that has ever been concrete. Love your work, have for years, since your Hellblazer issues.

RAB - thanks!

Hi,

Really enjoyed reading your blog entries. I just recently "discovered" Steranko and I am just fascinated with his storytelling. I got the paperback version of Red Tide and I thought it was great, but I can only imagine how much more impressive it is with nice reproduction. I also picked up some Captain America and Nick Fury reprints from the 80's that are awesome.

I also wanted to say that I very much enjoy your inking, you got a solid line with lots of life to it. I also draw, but I am just starting out, working for smaller on the fringe independent companies. My first series, Robotika, is being published now. I got a few samples at my blog:
