More Sktechbook!

another bit from the sketchbook, one that i liked.

(of course, the reality here is that i'm not likely to scan and present any of the drawings that i really can't stand from the sketchbook. isn't that true for most artists?)

just graphite here, and a model that kept moving around. oddly enough, it rather looks like Faith from Buffy....

yep, looks exactly like Eliza Dushku. I thought you'd deliberately drawn her at first!

I know how hard it is to capture a likeness when the "model" is moving...I am usually only fast enough if I have a cup of coffee :)

I think it would be great to see all of your sketchbook pages, not just what you call "the good ones". As you know I have been posting my "one-a-day" sketches and I have been getting a lot of benefit from it. I am sometimes surprised that the "bad" pictures are actually well received (regretfully it also works the other way around sometimes...but it helps me to learn what works and what does not work). Best, Alex-

Alex -

not a bad idea, i like the way the you've been doing it on your blog. I'm rather embarassed by some of the pages in the book: the thoughts of "why can't i do better?" or "why am i still doing things the same ol' way?" Perhaps i have to get past that. My current focus is to get out of 20 years of bad habits...

I love the way that you don't see Parker's face for some time at the beginning..
